Yn enillydd o'r Bath Opera Isobel Buchanan Award 2019, mae’r uwch-denor Kieron-Connor Valentine newydd ddechrau'r Cwrs Opera yn Ysgol Gerdd a Drama'r Guildhall yn Llundain. Roedd eisoes wedi cyflawni cwrs Meistr mewn Cerddoriaeth yng Ngholeg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru, Caerdydd, ac wedi graddio o'r cwrs Baglor mewn Cerddoriaeth, Astudiaethau Lleisiol, yn y Royal Northern College of Music, Manceinion.
Mae ei ymrwymiadau diweddar yn cynnwys rhan Fate yn yr opera Miss Fortune ac Orphee yn Orphee descendent aux enfers' gan Charpentier yn Ysgol Gerdd a Drama'r Guildhall yn Llundain. Bu hefyd yn dirpwryo rhan Mago Cristiano yn Rinaldo gan Handel ar gyfer taith Hydref Glyndebourne Touring Opera. Mae ei gynlluniau nesaf yn cynnwys Adelberto yn Ottone gan Handel a bydd hefyd yn diprwyo rhan Andronico yn Tamerlano gan Handel, y ddau ar gyfer English Touring Opera.Yn ystod ei amser yn y coleg perfformiodd L’humana fragilita yn Il ritorno in patri d’Ulisse; Monteverdi dan arweiniad Roger Hamilton; Oberon yn A Midsummer Night’s Dream Britten, dan arweiniad Andrew Greenwood ac, yn fwyaf diweddar, Didymus yn Theodora, Handel dan arweiniad Roger Hamilton. Yn 2018 fe wnaeth Kieron-Connor ymuno â rhaglen Britten-Pears Aldeburgh Festival fel Didymus yn Theodora.
Yn ystod haf 2017 fe recordiodd Kieron drac sain i ffilm Operatig Gymreig newydd, comisiwn gan Opera Genedlaethol Cymru ac S4C, a gyfansoddwyd gan Stephen McNeff yn seiliedig ar bardd y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf, Hedd Wyn.
Mae ei uchafbwyntiau cyngerdd yn cynnwys cyflwyno datganiad o gerddoriaeth y Dadeni a Baroque yn Cadogan Hall, Chelsea fel rhan o’r gyfres London Master Class; teithio ledled y DU gyda’r Military Wives a’i début yn Proms y BBC fel The Lost Boy yn The Water Diviners Tale, dan arweiniad David Charles Abell. Mae wedi perfformio Offeren Beethoven yn C fwyaf dan arweiniad Ian Chesworth yn St. Michael and All Saints Church, Macclesfield; Messiah, Handel dan arweiniad Owen Roberts yn Eglwys St. Giles, Wrecsam; The Armed Man gan Syr Karl Jenkins dan arweiniad Owen Roberts yn Neuadd William Aston, Wrecsam; Carmina Burana, Karl Orff dan arweiniad Richard Lea yn y Metropolitan Cathedral, Lerpwl a Chichester Psalms, Bernstein dan arweiniad John Powell yn Neuadd Gyngerdd y Royal Northern College of Music, Manceinion.
Mae llwyddiant diweddar yn cynnwys Gwobr Goffa Douglas Rees Canwr Opera Ifanc y Flwyddyn, Cystadleuaeth MOCSA Canwr Ifanc y Flwyddyn (Cymdeithas Cefnogwyr Côr Orpheus Treforys) 2018 a Chanwr Ifanc Cymreig Dunraven 2018. Dros y blynyddoedd mae Kieron wedi ennill teitlau Southport Singer of the Year; Liverpool Singer of the Year; Canwr Ifanc y Flwyddyn y Stiwt a Gwobr ‘Liverpool’s Most Promising Singer of the Year’.

Kieron-Connor Valentine’s Adelberto was a veritable nasty piece of work. Valentine sang with crisp precision, conveying the usurper’s vicious intent, and imbued his countertenor with a brightness and energy which were engaging as the villain’s schemes ensued.

Kieron-Connor Valentine was wonderfully oily as Adelberto, successfully suggesting the character's dodgy nature and making Teofane's lack of trust in him completely believable. Valentine combined this weaselly element to the character with a fine approach to the music, there was much to enjoy.
