Trystan releases new Christmas Single

6th December, 2019

Welsh tenor Trystan Llŷr Griffiths has released a new Welsh language Christmas single "Nadolig o'r Newydd" (Christmas Anew). With his soaring top notes and easy charm, Welsh tenor Trystan is in great demand as a concert artist and is also quickly making his mark on the International Opera Stage, having worked with Opéra National de Lorraine, Zürich Opera, Scottish Opera, Opera North and Welsh National Opera. However this single is inspired by his latest role -that of a new father, since the birth of his firstborn daughter Efa Lois a year ago.

Since she was born, Christmas has become a very special occasion for the tenor as a new father. So much so, that he asked two very talented friends to compose a special song for little Efa. The music is written by Harlequin's pianist and talented composer Caradog Williams and the lyrics are by the chaired Welsh bard, Ceri Wyn Jones.

The song is about how a new baby’s arrival affects the household and makes us adults reflect anew on the way we view Christmas and the true meaning of the Festive Season.

The song was recorded at Acapela Studios Pentyrch, Cardiff, by Hywel Wigley, with Caradog Williams on piano and Rhys Taylor on saxophone.

The song is available for digital download from SAIN's website here SAIN and also via the Apton website here APTON
