Adam Gilbert's Open Air Adventures with WNO!

4th June, 2021

After such a long time without live performances, it’s very exciting that WNO are going live this summer, performing this delightful family opera in the open air in the beautiful setting of the National Trust's Dyffryn Gardens in the Vale of Glamorgan.  This production was originally originally commissioned and produced by Opera Holland Park. With many familiar characters besides Alice, from the relaxed caterpillar, happy cat, depressive hare, mad hatter and sleepy dormouse and Adam himself as the Queen of Hearts, Will Todd’s score will be performed by a small orchestra, and is an eclectic mix of jazz, musical and opera and perfectly accompanies the witty libretto to create a fun and engaging story that remains true to the original book.

Adam, who has made the transition from baritone to tenor was appointed as one of WNO’s new Associate Artists just before the world went into lockdown, so is delighted to finally have the opportunity to perform in his new role with our this wonderful company.
