The Young Ones

Harlequin’s newly created Young Artists Division is headed by Sioned Jones and the seven young singers are already making the news. Book them now, while you can still afford them!


Baritone Adam Gilbert has already made his debut at the Wexford Festival in Ireland, singing the Earl of Dunmow in A Dinner Engagement.


Mezzo Sioned Gwen Davies has been performing as Margarida in The Yellow Sofa at Glyndebourne Festival and on tour and next year sings Kate in The Pirates of Penzance for Scottish Opera.


Tenor Trystan Llyr Griffiths was the winner of the Voice for Wales competition, jointly organised by Decca Records and the Welsh Channel 4, S4C.


Soprano Menna Cazel is a winner of  three major competitions in Wales - the 2012 W. Towyn Roberts scholarship, the 2008 Osborne Roberts Memorial Award at the National Eisteddfod of Wales and first prize at the 2009 Llangollen International Eisteddfod. She is currently studying in Leipzig at the Hochscule für Musik und Theater.


Baritone Meilir Jones is one of the youngest singers to win the prestigious Osborne Roberts Memorial Prize at the National Eisteddfod of Wales.


Soprano Sian Winstanley has performed Britten’s Les Illuminations in Granada with the Granada Symphony Orchestra conducted by Harry Christophers. She also joins Scottish Opera next year in The Pirates of Penzance.


Tenor Elgan Llyr Thomas won four major competitions in the under twenty five years of age category at the 2012 National Eisteddfod of Wales. The Blue Riband Osborne Roberts Memorial Prize, the operatic solo competition, the welsh solo competition and the music theatre solo competition.
