Accompanist David Doidge joins Welsh National Opera!

1st September, 2014

Pianist & accompanist David Doidge joins the Music Staff at Welsh National Opera this season! Having recently completed his postgraduate studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama here in Cardiff specialising as a répétiteur in opera and vocal coaching, his feet have barely touched the ground as he’s already launched into rehearsals for Bizet’s Carmen,  his first opera with the company, which stars Welsh tenor Gwyn Hughes Jones as Don José.

David has already worked with and performed alongside many of today’s leading artists, inclduing Rebecca Evans, Alfie Boe, Shân Cothi and John Owen Jones. He recently accompanied Bryn Terfel in his recital “My Life in Song” at the Bristol Proms, which was introduced  by Classic FM’s John Suchet at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre, in front of a captivated audience! We are very much looking forward to developing our relationship with this exceptionally gifted young artist!
